Random thoughts on a sunny fall football morning:
1. We are going to help Whitney pick out a new (new to her) car today. I am not really a fan of the entire car-buying situation, but I want to be there for Whitney.
Wish us luck. 🙂
2. My favorite bras (that I love because they do NOT have any underwire) are having their annual BOGO sale that’s going on right now. It’s just for the next two days, and this is one of the biggest sales of the year.
This is my go-to favorite. and you can see the entire sale here.
3. I just finished reading the best book. It’s called The English Masterpiece. It’s about an assistant curator who walks through the Picasso exhibit at the museum where she works and without realizing what she’s doing calls out “forgery.” But is it a forgery? The rest of the book unpacks the mystery of the painting and there’s a love story and I learned so much about art.
I stumbled across the book and hadn’t read anything else by the author and I loved it.
4. It was a great week on the blog. Here’s what we chatted about:
- this sweet story about an artist and her handmade Christmas village
- fall decorating in the kitchen (and a little bit of sunshine)
- What I Bought Wednesday (fall decor edition)
5. I have a new puzzle game for us. It’s called “Woodoku” and it’s all about puzzle pieces. You try and twist them to fit into the blocks on the game.
You can search for it on the app store on your phone.
And now?
Here are some of my favorite ideas and inspirations I found for us this week.

Kari Anne. How do the bras fit? True to size? Happy Saturday.
They do run true to size! They don’t have an underwire and I wear the same size in these as I do in that other bra, I love that does have an underwire. It’s the only bra I found that does have the same support as an underwire. There is a little bit of something stiff that’s under the bottom of the cup but it’s not wire! Does this even make sense? Lol! happy day, karianne
That's a beautiful bra. Regarding them, how thick is the removeable pad? I don't need to appear any bigger than I am, so am looking for a "pad/liner" that is only thick enough to hide the nipples. If I remove the pad, bra material is usually too thin. Is their sizing chart accurate based on your experience? Thank you.
You can’t remove the pad on the ones I linked! I think they do have some in the shop that you can remove the pad on. But the ones I bought have the inner lining which does not have a pad and the outer lining which has a pad! I also find that they run true to size! Hope this helps! KariAnne
The pumpkin made of twigs is too cute! I love simple but cute ideas!
Wow on so many pretty fall items but especially on the cake painted with food coloring! And same on car buying. I find it extremely tedious and frustrating but we have to get around.... bleh
Hi KariAnne! First I am so jealous that I am not in Dallas for your blog meet and greets. I have FOMO! I love the bras and need all the padding I can get. happy Saturday! laura in Colorado we meet so many people from Dallas when we are in Breckenridge. I am waiting for someone to know you, Carol or M-Katie! xo again laura
KariAnne I’m loving all your items in your shop. And I’ll share a link under my DRA. I’ll also share your twig pumpkin art. I want to make one! So adorable. Thank you for sharing my bowl filler ideas. You are just the best most supportive person! God bless you.
Thistlekeeping never disappoints! I enjoyed all the links and look forward to trying the pasta dish soon. Just this morning, I harvested my butternut squash. Sadly, the harvest is much smaller than usual, but there will still be some to enjoy. Have an amazing weekend please!
Thank you for recommending the English Masterpiece. I am currently on vacation in the south of France. Today I toured two Picasso museums, one in Antibes and one in Vallauris. I’m ordering to the book to read when I get home.
Great ideas! Thanks♥️
Hi I went to purchase the THE BLUE AND WHITE CHRISTMAS COTTAGE & the page is no longer found! Will they be back in stock?
Thanks for all of these wonderful ideas and those delicious apple recipes. Have a great weekend.
As always, GREAT thistles, KA!!! I may look into getting the BOGO bra. I have been looking for a good bra for ages now, keep ordering and returning trying to find a good supportive one that fits right. Thanks for that heads up and all the rest, too. Liese makes the cutest wooden buildings. I can't blame you for hugging that adorable barn!!! How did the car hunt go for Westleigh?
A book that you won't forget once you read it: WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING by Delia Owens. I highly recommend it.
Hi KariAnne, Have you ever read 84, Charing Cross Road? It’s a great read and film! Am sure you would love it. Its also a true story. Love your blog, and follow regularly from over the pond! Elaine 🇬🇧🇺🇸
You are so sweet to share our favorite Raw Apple cake. Thank you so much! I don't like car shopping either! xo
There is so much inspiration here KariAnne. I love fall and all the changes the season inspires. The little houses you are selling are adorable. It's so cute your husband photographed you "hugging" the barn. Also, "may the force be with you" when you go car shopping.
