I know this is an older post, but I have been thinking about if for a long while, and have found solution that was right under my eyes. few years ago I bout a remote control with three times which was a leftover item from Christmas. It is a system to let you use a remote to turn on and off your tree lights. Well, I am now using it to operate three lamps in my sunroom, family room and breakfast room. So that little remote that gets to live in a little crystal vase in my kitchen. So, I am going to use your method of hanging the lights over my shelving, but will use the remote so that I can turn them on and off as needed and will leave that remote safely in my desk drawer. You have the best ideas and I do enjoy iyour blog.very much.
